First we had a scotty mix named Buddy. The poor guy was covered with fleas. After 3 baths the fleas were gone. Buddy was almost bald. But with the fleas gone, good nutrtion, and love...the hair started growing back in. He was a character full of energy and wanting love.
.
Buddy is now in his forever home and his name was changed to Eddie and has he ever blossomed and has become quite the handsome fellow.

Then came Duke...he was a retired breeder. He was 9 years old...the breeder forgot about him. Poor soul. He was a wheaten scotty and a true gentleman. We fell head over heels in love with him and really thought about adopting him. But we decided he needed a family of his own. He is now very happy and his name is now O'Malley.
.
Then we received a call from a different breeder with two female westies that he wanted to release to rescue. One was adopted by my daughter and the other one came home with me. Her name was Sophie and she was 7 years old. Such a scared little girl she was but she had the most beautiful big black eyes. She came when we still had Duke and the two of them became inseperable. .

They wrestled together and took naps together. We hated to break them up, but Duke's new family was waiting for him. Sophie missed him for awhile but became quite the snuggle bunny. Pretty soon her forever family came along and we had the joy of personally meeting them. Sophie kept her name and she was a wonderful 8 year old westie brother to play with.

We did help rescue a scotty pup. She is 4 months old and had a skin problem. We got her from the breeder
and she is now in a foster home. The foster mom is working on getting her skin problem solved so she can have a new home. She was so much fun to hold and snuggle for the 3 hour trip to meet the foster
mom. She got a bath, nail trim, a haircut, and a visit to the vet.I was tempted but I love my older dogs and DJay reminds me why I love the older ones everyday.
Hope everyone had happy holidays and rang in the new year safely. It was quiet time around here. We didn't do anything special except give our furkids hugs and kisses. We are so blessed to have four wonderful westies and to be able to help those pups that need a new start in life and help to get away from abuse and neglect.
So we hope everyone has a great 2006. We can't save all the dogs...but we can change the life of the one we save and save them one at a time.. And dog spelled backwards is GOD. Also when wanting a dog...think of your local shelter, humane society, or rescue and adopt a second hand dog. All they want is love and kindness, a warm blanket, regular meals, and secruity. You would be amaze the love you will get in return. And do not buy from a pet shop...95% of the puppies come from puppymills...they breed misery and not a well rounded healthy pup.
